Abstract
This study sought to investigate the relationship between parent¡¯s self reflection and young children¡¯s playfulness together with the mediating effects of parental role satisfaction and positive parental attitude for parents with young children. The data were collected by means of a survey with 282 parents with 4-7 young children in the Seoul metropolitan area. In examining the relationship among the variables, a number of multi-mediating effects were identified through conducting multiple mediation modeling, operating in serial form, as proposed by Hayes(2012). Next, using the SPSS Macro Program as developed by Hayes(2012), a bootstrapping method was performed to confirm the significance of the indirect effects. The research findings are as follows: First, there were positive correlations among self reflection, playfulness, parental role satisfaction, and positive parental attitudes. Second, parental role satisfaction and positive parental attitudes had significant mediating effects between parent¡¯s self reflection and playfulness in terms of young children. Lastly, the implications and the limitations of this study were discussed and evaluated in some detail.
